On October 11th at 7:30 p.m., Bravo Television in Canada will begin airing Episodes 27-39 of Talkin’ Blues, a series that documents the passion and the stories behind the blues.

Conceived and produced by Canadian Mako Funasaka, the series is based on his interviews with blues musicians fr0m across Canada and throughout the U.S. First picked up for broadcast by Bravo in Canada in 2003, Talkin’ Blues is now entering its third season of installments.

Fusaka, a fan of the art form who had no previous television production credits, had a thirst to learn more about the musicians and a desire to highlight the current state of the blues, and used the footage from the interviews to develop them into full scale shows. The focus is on those musicians that populate today’s scene rather than an historical approach. The works began in 2000, when he was granted interviews with artists appearing at the Toronto’s Harbourfront Blues Festival. Funasaka is currently producing future episodes 40 – 52.

The October 11th broadcast will highlight an interview with Curtis Salgado.
