Oscar Peterson to Appear in Concert November 20th
Dr. Oscar Peterson and his quartet will appear in concert November 20th, 2005, at the Roy Thomson Hall in Missisauga, Ontario.
Dr. Peterson and his ensemble will donate their performance to help raise funds for Hazel’s Concert of Hope, with proceeds going toward World Vision. Hazel’s Concert of Hope is a charity that was formed three years ago to help World Vision provide support, education and care of orphans and vulnerable children in HIV/AIDS affected communities in Africa. Dr. Peterson is a Missisauga native.
The Hazel’s Concert of Hope initiative was started by the Missisauga’s Mayor, Hazel McCallion, who is a friend of Dr. Peterson. Mayor McCallion has visited the affected areas in Tanzania, and was moved to create a charity to benefit the children who suffer the rampages of the disease.
Tickets for Hazel’s Concert of Hope are $45-$135 and can be purchased by calling the box office 416-872-4255 or on line www.roythomson.com
