Canada Gets a Second Satellite Radio Service

XM Canada has announced its launch with a lineup of commercial-free music, leading sports, news and talk radio programming in both French and English.

XM Canada will deliver digital-quality commercial-free music appealing to wide-ranging music tastes – from jazz and blues , classical and country, to Latin, dance/electronica, state-of-the-art new and classic rock, hits from the past five decades and Christian.

Programming will include original Canadian French and English popular and emerging musicians, comedians and personalities.

Jazz and Blues – jazz and blues standards, cool, contemporary,fusion, and modern jazz.

Decades – big band of the ’40s; Rock and Roll of the ’50s; revolutionary bands of the ’60s; disco fever of the ’70s; pop and hard rock from the ’80s; dance beats and grunge of the ’90s.

Rock – classic, hard, college, alternative, acoustic and progressive rock.

Pop & Hits – pop from around world, love songs, movie soundtracks , Broadway and chart toppers.

Country – old-time, classic, contemporary, bluegrass and alternative country

Urban – R&B, rap, hip hop

Dance – DJs mixing dance music, Underground, dance club hits, electronica, breakbeats, and disco.

Lifestyle – eclectic mix of classical, jazz and rock , meditative messaging

Classical – from the Renaissance to today.
