Jazz Journalist Mark Miller Responds

My heart skipped a beat this morning when I saw a note from Mark Miller in my emails. One of my personal heroes, Mark Miller is a man who has dedicated his life to writing about and profiling jazz, particularly Canadian jazz. His significant contributions at the Globe and Mail have helped to establish and grow awareness of the music and it’s artists for over 27 years.

I wrote about Mr. Miller and his announced retirement from the Globe and Mail in my post of December 29, 2005.

In a most gracious manner, and with the intention of giving credit where credit is due, Mr. Miller was writing me this morning to point out that I’d erroneously reported he’d started his journalistic career at the Edmonton Journal. It was in fact at the Globe and Mail the spring of 1978 where he began his career. My apologies, Mr. Miller.
