Canadian Jazz Trombonist Russ Little

In the sixth installment of Toronto Downtown Jazz 20th Anniversary Concert Series,
Canadian jazz trombonist Russ Little will be playing selections from his latest release Snapshot at the Glenn Gould Studio on Monday, April 3rd. The all-star cast of musicians joining Russ include Brian Barlow, Phil Dwyer, Scott Alexander, Tom Szczesniak and Rob Piltch.

Trombonist, composer and arranger, Russ Little has been a mainstay in the Canadian jazz scene for years. As an original member of Canada’s famed rock orchestra, Lighthouse, they were responsible for hits such as Sunny Days, One Fine Morning and Hats off to the Stranger.

During the early 70s, Little would go on to perform with the world famous, Boss Brass. Today he is an in-demand session musician and is regarded as one of the top trombone players in the country. Snapshot is Little’s first recording as a leader.
