Mark Eisenman Trio Celebrates 20 Years of Performing Great Jazz

In this day and age of the music industry, it is very rare to encounter a story of a jazz ensemble that has performed together for two decades. Such is the case with the Mark Eisenman Trio, who celebrate the landmark occasion with a 20th Anniversary Concert May 13, 2006.

The trio, formed of pianist/composer Mark Eisenman, Steve Wallace (bass) and John Sumner (drums), have a large and loyal following in Canada and beyond. They’ve invited special guests Pat LaBarbera (sax) and John MacLeod (trumpet) to join them for the auspicious event.

Mark Eisenman is one among a handful of the top ‘in-demand’ jazz pianists in Toronto. He is a skillful soloist, a versatile ensemble player and, a thoughtful and sensitive accompanist. Those familiar with his range of abilities as a musician recognize that his efforts inevitably represent a genuine complement to whatever context he finds himself placed in. This fact has been recognized with Mark receiving The Jazz Report’s 1999 Acoustic Pianist of the Year Award for musical excellence.
