Duke Robillard, Gerry Beaudoin and Jay Geils Tour Western Canada

Duke Robillard, Gerry Beaudoin and Jay Geils have formed a trio to perform a living history of blues & jazz guitar, and have entitled the project New Guitar Summit.

The three venerable artists have highly successful careers in their own chosen idioms, Duke Robillard is a major blues artist who has received many accolades including four W.C. Handy Awards; Gerry Beaudoin a jazz phenomenon who is known for his work with Bucky Pizzarelli and David Grisman; and Jay Geils one of the most recognized rock guitarists of all time and leader of the famous J. Geils band, who have sold millions of records worldwide.

The three, who have known one another for years, formed the trio after sitting in with one another on gigs, performing swing jazz & blues in an acoustic format. The audience and artists alike encouraged them to record the beautiful sound created, and filling it out with a bassist and drummer, the three recorded and released “New Guitar Summit” on Stony Plain Records in 2005.

Making their Canadian debut, the group plays Vancouver before heading out to Alberta to perform in Calgary May 5th, and Edmonton May 8th.
