Calgary Blues Festival Boasts Stellar Lineup Including Blues Legend Johnny Winter

Calgary is about to set fire to the town with it’s 2nd annual summer blues festival. Kaos Blues Presents: The Beltline Blues Festival, June 23, 24 & 25th, and has announced a stellar lineup blues artists including the legendary Johnny Winter, fellow Texas Bluesmen Smokin’ Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Chicago greats Sonny Rhodes, Jimmy Dawkins and Zora Young, and New Orleans harmonica man Dale Spalding.

Canadian blues musicians get the greatest profile in the lineup, with artists from across the country taking part, including Toronto’s Fathead, Winnipeg’s Billy Joe Green and Big Dave McLean, Regina’s Jack Semple, and Vancouver’s Brickhouse and the great Jerry Doucette among over 100 musicians slated to perform.

The festival will feature three days of live blues in the heart of the city at Victoria Riverside Park. Ancillary events include noon hour concerts and workshops at various downtown venues.
