Jazz Vocalist Karin Plato in Concert

Vancouver vocalist Karin Plato is slated to appear at Cellar Jazz on Sunday, June 11, with a top drawer group including Lou Mastroianni (piano),
Dennis Esson (trombone), Paul Rushka (bass) and Nino Dipasquale (drums).

Plato, who has toured festivals & clubs throughout the nation, is one of Canada’s most recognized jazz vocalists and composers. Her contemporary jazz repertoire includes her own compositions and arrangements in a mix with the classics.

Listing five titles in her discography, the Juno nominated artist has a long list of impressive credits, including two nominations for Canadian Jazz Vocalist of the Year at The National Jazz Awards, and a 2004 nomination for a West Coast Music Award.

Karin has composed and arranged music for a number of concerts subsequently aired on CBC’s Jazzbeat and Radio Canada, and made several television appearances, including CBC’s North by Northwest, Sounds Like Canada, Urban Rush (Shaw) VTV Breakfast (CTV), and BRAVO TV in a feature entitled Divas For Life.
