South Delta Jazz Festival Grows by Leaps and Bounds

The South Delta Jazz Festival launches its third season July 2 through the 9th with a variety of concerts featuring the world-class faculty of its workshop program.

The festival, founded by Delta Music School instructors Jared Burrows and Stephen Robb, has grown since its first season of 2004 from a workshop into a full-blown festival featuring a week of concert presentations featuring both faculty along with guest jazz musicians from the greater Vancouver area and beyond.

This year’s faculty includes UK based Len Aruliah (saxophones), Dr. Jared Burrows (guitar), Rob Kohler (strings / bass), Stephen Robb (winds / piano), and Stan Taylor (drums). Guest artists (who also host master classes during the workshop) include guitarist Ross Bliss, vibraphonist Marty Franklin, saxophonist/vocalist Karen Graves, trumpeter Alan Matheson and trombonist Brad Muirhead.

All concerts are held at Tsawwassen Arts Centre with few exceptions (as noted), and are, for the most part, free.
