Roxanne Potvin
Roxanne Potvin, the Ottawa based blues singer, guitarist and songwriter, comes to Calgary to perform September 14 & 15th to support the release of her new CD The Way it Feels.
The rising star is quickly becoming a Canadian blues phenomenon, gaining international attention for her songwriting skills and her high-energy performances.
Produced by Grammy-winning Colin Linden, her new CD features guest performances by Daniel Lanois, Bruce Cockburn, Wayne Jackson of the The Memphis Horns, members of the Fairfield Four, and John Hiatt. Her first release Careless Loving (2003), was self-produced and received critical acclaim.
Potvin appeared at a major festival in France last year, and has played the prestigious Toronto Women’s Blues Review show twice. She was recently nominated as Female Vocalist of the Year at Canada’s Maple Blues Awards.
Roxanne Potvin signed with Alert Records late in 2005, and is now managed by industry veteran W. Tom Berry.
