Guido Basso Pays Tribute to Chet Baker

With a long career and a solid-gold reputation as one of Canada’s finest jazz musicians and composers, trumpet and flugelhorn master Guido Basso pays homage to a fellow giant with his Let’s Get Lost: A Tribute to Chet Baker. Part of JAZZ.FM91’s ongoing Sound of Jazz Series, the concert presentation will take place on Monday, Nov 20 at Harbourfront Centre Theatre.

Guido Basso is once of Canada’s most influential jazz figures, known for his virtuosity and his work as soloist, sideman, leader, arranger, composer and conductor. Winning a JUNO award for his Lost in the Stars (2004), Basso appears on dozens of jazz and pop instrumental recordings, and is an in-demand session player. He is a soloist with Rob McConnell’t acclaimed group the Boss Brass, and leads his own groups, the Guido Basso Dance Band, and the Guido Basso Jazz Quintet. Guido Basso was named to the Order of Canada in 1994.
