Guitarist Cook Appears at Pyramid Cabaret Tonight
At the age of 22, blues-rock guitarist Jordan Cook is already a veteran musician.
Having headlined his own tours since the tender age of 11, his enormous talent earned him an appearance at the prestigious Montreaux Festival (where he played with BB King, Edgar Winter and Van Morrison) when he was just fifteen. By the age of 18 he’d signed his first major label deal with Epic Records.
With such an auspicious beginning to his career, it’s no small wonder the man continues to burn brightly on the scene. He’s recently announced a move from his current home of Saskatoon to join the music ranks in Montreal, and in early December plans to travel to England to do some more work on his upcoming debut release, creating with the assistance of Howard Bilerman (The Arcade Fire) and Glen Robinson (Dave Grohl/Keith Richards/Deep Purple).
Cook will be appearing in Winnipeg tonight at the Pyramid Cabaret with his band, a trio with Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Chamberlain.
