Winnipeg jazz fest will run one week later next summer

The COOL Jazz Winnipeg Festival will run a week later in 2007 to better accommodate some big-name headliners and their touring schedules.

The festival organizers are re-aligning their dates to run simultaneously with the other jazz festivals in Canada now that the two Alberta festivals have folded. The festival was originally aligned with the Alberta festival’s dates.

Another big change for the 2007 festival will involve restructuring the ticketed and non-ticketed events, with the last four days of the festival being gratis to the public, June 22 to July 2.
