Orangeville Celebrates New Year’s With Bluesman Danny Marks

Bluesman Danny Marks will be appearing in concert with his trio at Orangeville, Ontario’s First Night celebration December 31st.

The veteran musician and radio broadcaster is the current holder of the Toronto Blues Society’s ‘Blues With a Feeling’ award for lifetime achievement in music and broadcasting, his enormous contributions worthy of this and many more honours.

Marks, one of the original members of the seminal group Edward Bear, a chart-topping group of the sixties, is also the host of the popular bluz.fm radio program on Toronto’s JAZZ.FM91 station, and CBC’s Hum Line.

With an extensive list of credits as a recording and performing artist, Danny Marks has appeared and/or recorded with such luminaries as Bo Diddley, Big Bill Morganfield, Rita Coolidge, Rick James, Tiny Tim, and Led Zeppelin. His work is also heard in a number of movie, television and radio productions.

The Danny Marks Rock & Roll Trio will appear onstage December 31st at 11:00 p.m., and will perform through the midnight hour, the perfect way to kick off the New Year if you’re in the area.
