Vancouver Saxophonist Eli Bennett Selected to Perform With Grammy Jazz Ensemble

Saxophonist Eli Bennett, 17, hasn’t yet graduated high school, but has already established an impressive list of performance credits including the Telluride Jazz Fest in Colorado, opening for McCoy Tyner at the Ottawa Jazzfest, and the All-Canadian Jazzfest in Port Hope, Ontario among them.

Nothing could have more prestige than being invited to perform at the Grammy Awards, and Bennett is slated to perform for the second time (his first was in 2006) at the annual celebration February. Bennett has been selected to perform with with the Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY Jazz Combo, the first horn player in the history of the program to receive the honour.

He will share the stage with saxophone legends Phil Woods and James Moody.

With his participation the group has become a quintet, and they will make multiple appearances at a variety of venues as listed below:
