Ken Aldcroft’s Convergence Ensemble stops at Yardbird on tour

The Convergence ensemble makes a one-night stop on tour in Edmonton at the Yardbird Suite on Friday, Jan 26. The group, led by jazz guitarist Ken Aldcroft, is setting across the nation to promote their debut CD release “The Great Divide.”

Composer/guitarist/leader Ken Aldcroft is well-known in Canada’s creative music scene as a tireless promoter and advocate of improvised music, performing his unique projects throughout the nation. The Convergence Ensemble, his latest vision, includes Evan Shaw (alto sax), Scott Thomson (trombone), Wes Neale (bass), Joe Sorbara (drums).

Listening to Convergence Ensemble live is an organic process, the group integrates composed and improvised music that includes the listening audience being active participants.

Convergence Ensemble is on tour supported by Canada Council.
