The Art of Jazz to Appear with vocalist Kevin Mahogany

Toronto’s Art of Jazz Orchestra will be swinging behind jazz vocalist Kevin Mahogany for a special Valentine’s pair of concerts Feb. 7 & 8 at Lula Lounge.

The concerts mark the debut of baritone Mahogany with the Art of Jazz Orchestra, formed by talent from across the country. The velvet-voiced singer is one of jazz music’s most recognized talents today, is known for his rich vocal style and innovative approach to the idiom. He has released ten recordings, and is owner of his own label, Mahogany Music.

Don Thompson, one of Canada’s foremost musicians, will conduct the 18 piece Orchestra, and will feature guest soloist Jane Bunnett (saxophone), a fellow leader in Canadian jazz.
