Jane Bunnett in Bragg Creek Tonight
Bragg Creek Performing Arts presents saxophonist Jane Bunnett and the Radio Guantanamo Blues Project tonight at the Bragg Creek Centre in the hamlet just west of Calgary. The concert, part of the Main Series Performances, is slated to begin at 8:00 p.m.
In addition, this afternoon Jane and her band will teach a Jazz Workshop for student musicians from 4-5 p.m. at Bragg Creek Centre. This workshop is available at no charge, running for students in Grade 6 or lower from 4:00 pm to 4:20 pm, and for students Grade 7 and up from 4:20 to 5:00 pm. For more information or to register please call Bragg Creek Video at 949-3881.
Toronto-based Bunnett, soprano saxophonist, flutist and bandleader, has built her career at the crossroads between Cuban music and jazz. Twice nominated for Grammy awards and a fixture of the nominations for Canada’s Juno awards, she has turned her bands into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the United States and Cuba.
