Lew Tabackin Joins EJO for Yardbird Anniversary Weekend

For the third weekend of concerts celebrating the Yardbird Suite’s 50th Anniversary, organizers have created a dynamic blend with the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra with special guest Lew Tabackin.

The two evening of concerts will premiere an expanded work for large jazz ensemble of the “Van Gogh Suite” written for jazz quintet by the late Edmonton musician Dale Hillary and arranged by Bill Jamieson.

Opening for the two shows will be the Lew Tabackin Trio, featuring Mike Lent (bass) and Sandro Dominelli (drums).

The Edmonton Jazz Orchestra (EJO), lead by Musical Director Kent Sangster, is formed by a group of Edmonton’s leading jazz players.
