Calgary’s Allistair Elliott Releases Smooth-Jazz CD

Calgary trumpeter Allistair Elliott releases his second CD Urban Nights tonight at Beat Niq Jazz Club in his hometown. The Smooth Jazz offering Urban Nights is a selection of originals and pop/funk standards, with feels that range from funky urban grooves to sultry, seductive moments and hot Latin jazz.

Joining trumpeter and vocalist Elliott on the disc are Calgary greats Kristian Alexandrov (keyboards), Jim Brenan and Pat Belliveau (saxophones), Steve Pineo and Russ Broom (guitars).

For tonight’s release party event, Elliott will feature the rhythm section of local greats FUJA, with Kristian Alexandrov (keyboards), Andy Ericson (drums) and Ben Harries (bass), as well as special guests from the recording.
