Calgary Vocalist Suzin Skyler Releases New CD

Vocalist Suzin Skyler draws from the great talent pool in Calgary to create the sound on her new CD Mmmmm… Jazz Flavoured, featuring Andrea Petrity (piano), John Hyde (bass), and Robin Tufts (drums).

The singer is a long-time Calgary resident who first made her mark with her debut release Musings (1998). Skyler has performed in Calgary clubs for the last fifteen years, building a loyal and growing audience.

Mmmmm… Jazz Flavoured borrows from Skyler’s wide musical influences leading up to this point in her life, and features such greats as Baubles, Bangles and Beads and Bill Wither’s Ain’t No Sunshine along with familiar Canadian compositions such as Songbird. The mix of jazz, pop and folk standards has a distinct jazz flavour, as the title suggests.

Suzin Skyler will be performing selections from the CD along with other favourites at the CD Release concert, to be held Friday, March 30 at the Epcor Centre’s Engineered Air Theatre in Calgary. Joining Skyler for the concert will be Andrea Petrity (piano), Steve Pineo (guitar), John Hyde (bass), and Robin Tufts (drums).
