Toronto Jazz Festival 2007 will be the Mother of all Summer Events

There’s only fifty days left until the 2007 Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival kicks off. The festival, which is scheduled to run June 22 to July 1, promises to be a world-class event and holds special moments for music lovers of all stripes. Topping the bill are three of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, with pianists Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett slated to perform.

The three piano legends will take part in the Grandmaster Series to be held in June at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. On the 25th, the Dave Brubeck Quartet will grace the stage for a concert featuring an opening set by Canadian jazz pianist Laila Biali and her trio. Order of Canada recipient Oscar Peterson will perform a solo concert on June 26th, while on June 29th Keith Jarrett will appear with his all-star trio of Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette.

The list doesn’t end there, from the kick-off to the last concert of the event, there’s a long and mouth-watering list of the top names in jazz, blues, contemporary and world music.

Events will be held at various venues throughout the city, and offer a wide range of free and paid performances.
