9th Annual Edmonton’s Labatt Blues Festival Announces Artist Lineup

The Edmonton Labatt Bluesfest continues with the ninth edition of the world-class event August 24-26 at the Heritage Amphitheatre at Hawrelak Park.

Festival producers announced yesterday the lineup will feature 13 acts performing over the three-day event. Topping the list of headliners are Los Lobos, who will perform a rare blues set; contemporary blues masters Watermelon Slim and the Workers; multiple award-winning pianist/composer Jon Cleary and his band the Absolute Monster Gentlemen; jump blues pianist extraordinaire Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88’s; and blues legend Elvin Bishop, who introduced electric Chicago blues to rock audiences during the 60’s. Elvin Bishop is the first repeated act in the festival’s history, having played at the first festival in 1999.
