Vocalist and songwriter Glenda Rae makes an appearance this Sunday, May 27 at the Cellar with her band The Essentials, formed by Miles Black (piano), Brett Wade (guitar, vocals), Rene Worst (bass) and Tony Chamberlain (drums).

Gifted with a golden alto voice that reaches over four octaves, Glenda Rae is a skilled technician with flawless pitch who uses her instrument with a soulful, intuitive approach to music. Known for her pure tone and her versatility, power and phrasing, critics have raved about the near-perfection to be found in her performances.

Collaborating with acclaimed Canadian pianist and composer-arranger Miles Black, Glenda has penned lyrics and melodies to over 300 songs covering miles of musical terrain in a variety of genres from pop to soul, jazz, and new country.
