Altered Jazz Quartet to Release New CD

Vancouver jazz veterans Tom Keenlyside (tenor saxophone), Miles Black (piano), Miles Foxx Hill (bass), and Bernie Arai (drums), who form the contemporary jazz group the Altered Laws Jazz Quartet, will be celebrating the release of their second album Metaphora on Saturday, June 9th, at Vancouver’s Cellar Jazz Club.

Lead by saxophonist, flutist and composer Tom Keenlyside, Altered Laws Jazz Quartet performs and records original material written by Keenlyside along with pianist Black, and crosses a wide range of contemporary jazz styles and feels.

Festival Distribution describes Metaphora as a wayfare through jazz in its many forms as played by expert musicians, while Paul Grant, Host of CBC’s ‘Hot Air’ program says; “Great album … sounds wonderful,” and ejazznews.com’s George W. Carroll is quoted as saying “kudos to the group for such fine artistry.”
