Jazz at the Lake Celebrates 5th Anniversary

The 5th Annual Jazz at the Lake Festival, held in Sylvan Lake, AB, runs this year from August 16-19 in the hamlet north of Calgary, and features a range of local and international artists.

Founded five years ago by vocalist Cheryl Fisher and her husband, saxophonist Eric Allison, the two produce the annual event and perform in various musical settings throughout the festival.

There’s something for everyone over the four days of music, with a range of free and paid concerts, and styles from swing to contemporary, big band to traditional, and bebop to blues.

Headliners include Edmonton’s Juno award-winning alto saxophone giant P.J. Perry; U.S. contemporary drum master and bandleader Dan Brubeck and his Quartet; High River guitar legend Amos Garrett; and Calgary bandleader and trumpeter Johnny Summers.
