Port Dover Concert to Benefit the Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library
Canada’s largest biking event, The Joe Show, will present John Kay with Steppenwolf and The Jeff Healey Blues Band as headliners for a fundraising concert for the `Joe Chithalen Memorial Music Instrument Lending Library’. The 7th annual PD13 (Port Dover 13) biker enthusiast rally, which is expected to draw over 120,000 bikers from across Canada, will run July 13th at Silver Lake Park in Port Dover, Ontario.
Scheduled performers will also include The Imperial Crowns, Wally High and the Non-Prophets with Steve Piticco and Flashback.
Proceeds from this year’s Joe Show concert will go toward building a musical library in Port Dover. Founded in 1999, the Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Lending Library was established in Kingston, Ontario and in Clinton, Ontario to help disadvantaged kids learn to play music through a free music instrument lending library. The annual Joe Show event has previously featured some of the greatest names in music, including The Tragically Hip, The Doobie Brothers and Dan Aykroyd.
The concert has special meaning for John Kay and Steppenwolf, who are celebrating their 40th Anniversary Farewell tour. The Port Dover event is their only Canadian date on the tour.
