Fusion of Jazz & Cultures Marks Summer Festival

Jazz, Spoken Word Poetry, DJ Culture in Eclectic Lineup

On August 9-12 one of Canada’s most diverse and eclectic jazz festivals will kick off in Toronto, when Jazz by Genre ‘Summerfest’ takes place on the docks at 11 Polson St. in Toronto.

Borne from an ensemble of talent that called Toronto’s Mod Club Theatre home, the festival brings together the improvisational spirit of jazz, culturally diverse audiences, and a range of music, spoken word poetry and DJ culture in a melting pot starring some of the biggest names in the music industry in Canada and abroad.

The cutting edge festival features Mainstage performances Thursday through Sunday, as well as special events including the Saturday, August 4th Caribana Parade with Mas Band “Colour Me Jazz”, and nightly jams at Tappo Wine Bar in the Distillery District.
