Patriarch of Canadian Blues Featured in Series
Legendary blues man Donnie Walsh appears as part of the tenth anniversary season of the Epcor Centre’s Carma Acoustic Blues Series, on Friday, October 19, in an intimate concert setting at the Engineered Air Theatre. The patriarch of Canadian blues will perform with former band member Chuck Jackson, uncovering the basis behind Downchild’s work in an acoustic format.
The “original blues brother” was so-named by Dan Akroyd for inspiring the infamous Saturday Night Live skit based on his work with the Downchild Blues Band, a party band formed 30 years ago by Walsh and his brother. Downchild Blues Band went on to become one of Canada’s most recognized blues acts.
