Award-winning Blues Guitarist Appears This Weekend

Toronto based Juno and Maple Blues-winning guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer Jack de Keyzer performs for Yardbird Suite Blues this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2nd & 3rd. Jack de Keyzer will be joined by Edmonton musicians Dave Babcock (tenor saxophone), Doug Organ (Hammond B3, piano), Sandro Dominelli (drums).

A London, England, native, Jack de Keyzer’s professional career has spanned 32 years. He has led his own band since 1985 and has released six CDs as a leader, including his new release Blues Thing (Fontana/Universal, 2007), featuring 14 new tunes covering a wide blues range, including Chicago and west coast styles, R&B (Motown and Stax), funk and soul jazz. The guitarist has also released a DVD, Silver Blues (Blue Star, 2005). A busy session player, de Keyzer has been guitarist for many artists including Etta James, Otis Rush, John Hammond Jr., Robert Gordon, Bo Diddley, Willy “Big Eyes” Smith and Blue Rodeo.

An exciting entertainer, soulful singer and electrifying guitarist, Jack de Keyzer delights music lovers wherever he performs. He has been an avid jazz fan his entire life and has been studying the music of guitarists Grant Green and Kenny Burrell among them, as well as that of blues guitarists such as Albert King, B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix.
