Food For Thought Trio Tours B.C.

Award-winning musician Phil Dwyer is touring his latest west-coast project, the Food for Thought Trio. Formed by fellow Canadian jazz giants Andre La Chance (bass) and Bernie Arai (drums), the group makes multiple stops in B.C. this month, and no doubt will serve up a little Food For Thought along with some fine ear candy.

Dwyer will also make an appearance at the Doug Riley tribute to perform in the all-star band honouring the Canadian music legend at Convocation Hall in Toronto, November 22.

Today the group will be in Qualicum Beach, where they are presenting a special jazz and culinary experience, the Phil Dwyer Academy of Musical and Culinary Arts, a combination of workshop and lunch.

Now based on Vancouver Island, saxophonist/pianist/composer/arranger/producer Phil Dwyer has been touring and recording since the mid-80’s with some of the top names in the music industry. After spending 15 years living in Toronto and dividing his time between commercial studio work and various creative projects he returned to his west coast roots in 2004 to focus on writing and organic gardening, as well as touring as a soloist and with different groups.

Among the artists with whom Phil is proud to be associated are Roberto Occhipinti, Don Thompson, Kenny Wheeler, Alain Caron, Gino Vannelli, the Clayton-Scott Group, CBC Orchestra, Hard Rubber Orchestra, Alan Jones, Darrell Grant, Dave Young, Rodney Whitaker, Hilario Duran, Guido Basso, PJ Perry, Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Labarbera, Rob Piltch, the Art Of Time Ensemble, Mark Fewer and the Duke Trio, Kate Alton(Overall Dance), Daniel Berman (Original Spin Media), Ian McDougall, Ian Tyson, and many others.
