Foundations Tour Makes a Stop in Regina

Jazz bassist and composer Jodi Proznick, who is crossing Canada on tour in support of her new album Jodi Proznick Quartet – Foundations, makes a stop in Regina this Saturday, November 17, at Le Bistro.

Presented by Jazz Regina, the Jodi Proznick Quartet also features Tilden Webb (piano), Steve Kaldestad (tenor saxophone), and Jesse Cahill (drums). The concert is to be recorded by CBC.

Based out of Vancouver, Jodi Proznick is a multiple award-winning bassist and composer. Graduating from McGill University in 1997, Proznick has since become one of the nation’s top jazz musicians, first-call in studios and on stages across the country with such international greats as George Coleman, Ed Thigpen, Sheila Jordan, Eddie Henderson, and long list of others. She has been featured on over a dozen recordings, including a recent release with the Tilden Webb Trio featuring the legendary David ‘Fathead’ Newman.

The Jodi Proznick Quartet, won Proznick the Galaxie Rising Star Award in 2004, and released their album Foundations in December 2006 on the Cellar Live label. The album has hit the top of the jazz charts and garnered great critical acclaim. The Quartet has been touring Canada this fall, recently returning from down east. After the performance in Regina on Saturday, the group heads to Medicine Hat, before Proznick and Webb travel up north to be guest artists for the 2007 Keyano College Jazz Festival.
