Holiday Jazz With Sinclaire and the B3 Kings

Toronto-born vocalist/pianist/composer, Denzal Sinclaire has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most popular male jazz vocalists for his sophisticated image and his ultra smooth music.

The crooner is slated to perform with the B3 Kings in Calgary on Friday, December 14, the concert being C-Jazz’ fourth installment of the Best Canadian Jazz Series.

The concert will take place at the Uptown Stage, with vocalist Sinclaire doubling on drums and joined by fellow Vancouver jazz greats the B3 Kings, formed by musicians Cory Weeds (saxophone), Chris Gestrin (Hammond B3) and Bill Coon (guitar).

A multiple Juno Award nominee and recipient of the 2004 National Jazz Award for “Best Album”, Toronto native Denzal Sinclaire has appeared at major jazz festivals and performed with symphony orchestras across the nation and beyond. He also starred in his own one hour television special for BRAVO! Relocating to Vancouver in 2005, Sinclaire was inducted into the British Columbia Entertainment Hall of Fame. Among his many admirers are jazz vocalists Diana Krall (who became a fan after he opened for her at the Vancouver Jazz Festival), Diane Reeves and Cassandra Wilson. He’s recorded three albums for Universal Music, I Found Love (EmArcy), the self-titled Denzal Sinclaire (Verve), and his latest release, My One and Only Love (Verve).

The B3 KINGS were formed in 2002 for a Christmas concert at The Cellar Restaurant / Jazz Club in Vancouver, BC, and has become an annual event. The B3 Kings released their debut A Cellar Live Christmas on the Cellar Live Label (2004) to rave reviews.
