2008 Juno Awards
April 4-6
Calgary, Alberta
Juno Awards Celebrations Slated for April 4-6
The City of Calgary will be home to the 2008 Juno celebrations April 4-6, and are using the slogan “Calgary. Music Lives Here” to market the event. The 37th annual awards week will take place in a variety of venues, with a full spectrum of music events planned.
While Calgary is enormously proud of its Western heritage and reputation for some of the finest country music in the world, the music community is hoping the rest of Canada becomes aware of the quality and activity of the city’s diverse music scene when the event rolls into town next spring, drawing musicians and industry persons from across the nation.
Organizers announced on Monday the schedule of the Juno week’s events, and also announced that broadcasting executive Moses Znaimer will be presented a special achievement award, while Calgary country music star Paul Brandt will receive a humanitarian award.
Juno Award nominees will be announced on Feb. 6, with tickets going on sale Feb. 9.
