Ceremony to Take Place at Palais Royale in Toronto

Canada’s top jazz musicians and industry persons will receive honours for their outstanding contributions when the National Jazz Awards take place on Tuesday, April 8 at Palais Royale in Toronto. The upcoming event shines the spotlight on the nation’s young artists.

Organizers have just announced two of the nation’s youngest jazz stars will host the show, vocalist Kellylee Evans and pianist Michael Kaeshammer, who are also slated to join the headline roster of featured performers, including The Mike Ruby Quartet, 13 year-old Nikki Yanofsky, Brandi Disterheft Quintet, Elizabeth Shepherd Trio, Laila Biali Trio, Alex Bellegarde, and the October Trio.

Also confirmed is Musical Director Richard Underhill of Shuffle Demons fame.
