Quartet Performs at Beat Niq Tonight

The Mainstream Jazztet performs the second of two nights of music by jazz legend Duke Ellington tonight at Beat Niq jazz club in Calgary.

Formed by a local contingent of Calgary musicians, the Mainstream Jazztet features saxophonist Dave Edgar, pianist Dave Klinger, bassist John Gray and drummer Greg Baker.

Although the four names may not be immediately recognizable, the in-demand musicians are veteran players and form an integral part of the Calgary scene, having played in numerous ensembles in a variety of formats and having an estimated couple hundred years of combined experience.

Stepping into the spotlight with Mainstream Jazztet, the group will showcase their fine skills through the music of on of jazz music’s most beloved composers, Duke Ellington.
