Concert to Showcase Local Jazz Artists Returning Home for Holidays

Jazz Regina hosts their annual Homecoming Concert, a feature of the annual season that showcases local artists who return home for the holiday season.

On Friday, December 28 at Le Bistro, Jazz Regina features the 2007 Homecoming Concert with Jon McCaslin (drums), Carl Bray (piano), Derek Friesen (trumpet) and Sam McClellan (bass).

The quartet is lead by drummer McCaslin, who was raised in Regina and is currently living in Toronto, where he is teaching and pursuing his Doctorate in Jazz Studies at the University of Toronto. Pianist Carl Bray is attending Humber College where he studies for his Bachelor degree in Contemporary Music. Bassist Sam McClellan is a multi-instrumentalist who is studying classical bass performance at University of Toronto. Trumpeter Derek Friesen rounds out the group.
