Edmonton vocalist Shelley Jones returns to the stage at the Yardbird Suite to perform with an ensemble of local greats including Wes Yaciuk (guitar), Wes Yaciuk (guitar), Andrew Glover (piano, keyboards), John Taylor (bass) and Jamie Cooper (drums).

Familiar to Alberta audiences, Shelley sings many different genres of music but Jazz and R&B remain her first love.
Over the past year Shelley as she has been writing, recording and performing on numerous independent musical projects. Her voice and music have also been featured regularly on the radio station Magic 99.

With two solo albums to her credit, Shelley is about to release her third CD which sees her collaborating with fellow Edmonton musician/producer Andrew Glover. Together they have co-written eleven tracks, which are a mixture of Smooth Jazz, Blues, Pop and Latin.

Shelley’s credits are varied and extensive, underscoring her versatility. She has fronted jazz trio’s to big bands and pop groups and a featured guest with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Her musical influences range from Sarah Vaughan and Al Jarreau to Michael Jackson and Anita Baker.

After graduating from the Grant MacEwan College music program where she majored in vocal performance, Shelley quickly became one of the most in-demand freelance singers in the area, working with the top musicians. For several years, Shelley was also employed as a lead singer for a top-forty house band. Her real passion though has always been to write positive songs that would combine both her pop and jazz influences. Working with co-writers Andrew Glover and Rob Hewes, Shelley has written and recorded her self-titled debut CD. Not only does it exhibit her strength as a vocalist, but also serves as a shimmering showcase for her development as a composer.
