6th Annual Festival Takes Place at Sylvan Lake Next Month

Alberta’s last jazz festival of the summer runs in Sylvan Lake August 14-17, at various venues throughout the townsite.

The 6th annual Jazz at the Lake will feature a mix of jazz genres, with vocal jazz great Ranee Lee from Toronto, guitar master Amos Garrett (High River) who appears in trio, Calgary’s Johnny Summer’s Little Big Band and Dixieland jazz with the H.O.T. Dixieland Jazz Band (Calgary) among the headline roster. Featured from the blues music world is guitarist Jim Guiboche and his band The Sleepers from Edmonton.

Other special events include the Jazz For Kids Concert & Cartoons, a Pub Crawl and a wrap-up jam session and fireworks.
