Annual Fundraising Event Features an Evening of Blues

The third annual Burn Care For Kids Benefit is back this year with a full evening of blues with a musical showcase and dance party on Saturday, September 20th at Flames Central in Calgary.

The 2008 event star some of the finest vocalists in the industry, with headliners including Grammy nominated blues-roots singer Maria Muldaur and Juno nominated retro-blues performer Little Miss Higgins topping the bill. Opening for the ladies are the Edmonton based Essence of Praise Gospel Choir, winner of the Vibe Award for Best Emerging Artist (2002).

Following the showcase will be a dance party hosted by Calgary guitarist Gary Martin & his Heavenly Blues Band and Grammy Award-winning singer/drummer Donald Ray Johnson and his band.

The Burn Care For Kids Benefit help raise awareness of and donates proceeds to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Burn Fund, which aids juvenile burn patients and their families.
