Award-Winning Vocalist, Songwriter Appears In Quintet Format

Venezuelan born, Toronto based vocalist Eliana Cuevas performs one of two Alberta dates in Calgary tonight at Beat Niq.

Known for her strong, elegant, sophisticated yet simple singing and stage persona, Cuevas transcends genres to win audiences in the Folk, Jazz, Latin Jazz and World music markets, her South American rhythms blended with lyrical poetry and jazz harmonies.

The busy musician has traversed Canada numerous times since her debut recording in 2002, appearing at major festivals across the nation and wowing crowds with her talents as songwriter and bandleader. She made her international debut in 2006, performing in Germany and returning to her native home to appear in Caracas.

The award-winning artist has released three albums, the latest, Vidas (2007) produced by bassist George Koller, who will be appearing as part of tonight’s quintet at Beat Niq.
