Doc MacLean, Michael Pickett Finish Off Tour in Western Provinces

Veteran bluesmen Doc MacLean and Michael Pickett add 75 back-to-back shows across 9 Canadian provinces to their well-traveled resume as they continue on their National Steel Blues Tour.

Kicking off in Ontario the beginning of September, the pair have traversed the country performing their unique mix of roots & blues in an acoustic format, all played masterfully on vintage National Steel guitars. Marking their performances is the polished mix of artistry and colourful road tales.

Alberta dates include this Saturday, October 25th, when the artists will appear in Calgary at Ironwood Stage. Still to come is Black Diamond on Oct. 26th before the pair head off to B.C. for several dates.

Doc MacLean

Doc MacLean is a bit of a vagabond Delta songster, as likely to be playing the streets of Memphis or Toronto as opening a show for BB King. In 1972 he formed a duo with Colin Linden and became a popular opener for Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee and Muddy Waters. Mentored by Son House, Doc toured with Peg Leg Sam the Medicine Show Man, Blind John Davis, Sam Chatmon, and many others.
