Big Dave McLean & Guitarmageddon.Ca
Western Canadian Tour
Jan 5-17
Canadian Blues Legend Hits the Road with Saskatoon Band
“Big Dave’s been the quintessential behind-the-scene bluesman. He’s done more to shape the Western Canadian Blues scene than perhaps any other artist.” Billboard
Stony Plain Recording artist Big Dave Mclean is touring Western Canada with Saskatoon based group Guitarmageddon.Ca, formed by Shaun Verreault, Scotty Hills, and Curtis Scarrow.
Legendary Canadian bluesman Big Dave McLean is considered a major force in Canadian blues, influencing an entire generation of musicians. Big Dave recently released his third Stony Plain album Acoustic Blues: Got ‘Em From The Bottom and was recently nominated for two Maple Blues Awards.
Guitarists Shaun Verreault (Wide Mouth Mason), Scotty Hills, and Curtis Scarrow are members of Canadian band Guitarmageddon.ca. Formed in the late 90s by Curtis and Shaun as a vehicle for them to do blues gigs together, the three guitarists all encountered Mclean as kids early in their careers at a local blues jam.
During a special opening acoustic set the musicians will feature material from the albums they’ve released this year, including Shaun’s Two Steel Strings, Big Dave’s Acoustic Blues: Got ‘Em From The Bottom and Scotty’s Wonderland Urgency. Fans can look forward to some surprises and many special guests as the boys will be playing musical chairs backing up Big Dave.
