Byrnes Performs a Modern Take on Traditional Blues

Vancouver blues giant Jim Byrnes appears in Kelowna tonight at 8:00 pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Backing Byrnes are his top-notch band of fellow Vancouver greats and the powerhouse vocal trio, the Sojourners, with Will Sanders, Ron Small and Marcus Mosely.

Over his 40 year career, two-time Juno Award-winning Jim Byrnes has appeared with blues legends such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal and Robery Cray.

The Sojourners have years of experience on stage, film and television, and recently worked with Jim Byrnes on his Juno Award winning CD, House of Refuge.

Performing for the pre-show event “Much and Music,” to be held in the Atrium at 7 pm, are Kelowna duo Blue City, featuring Tom Esson and Sergei Ryga.
