Blues Legends Headline Events

The second annual Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest kicks off on Monday, Feb. 23 and runs the full week with a host of activities and a headline roster featuring some of the finest in blues.

Slated to appear are legendary Seattle vocalist Kathi McDonald; multi-instrumentalist Paul Oscher (Chicago); the International Blues Collective with Kenny Neal (Baton Rouge, LA), Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne (Vancouver), and Sonny Rhodes (L.A.); and Toronto guitar giant Paul James.

Throughout the week blues fans can wipe away the winter blahs with a range of dance Parties, Concerts, Workshops, Singing the Blues Vocal Camp, the CBMA Blues Hall of Fame Awards ceremony & more.

CALGARY MIDWINTER BLUESFEST SCHEDULE

MONDAY, FEB. 23

Emerging Blues Artists Workshop – 3-5 pm
with Wayne Logan, Entertainment Lawyer
Cantos Music Foundation

Wayne Logan brings his extensive legal background in intellectual property and business law to this workshop designed for blues musicians with experience.

Singing the Blues Vocal Camp Clinic – 8:00 pm
with Kathi McDonald
Ironwood Stage

Aspiring blues vocalists will be guided in the art of singing and performing by legendary Seattle songstress Kathi McDonald.

The 2nd annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony honours regional blues artists who’ve been voted by fans as tops in their field.
