Festival Features Pacific Northwest Blues
The 12th Annual Sky High Blues Festival takes place this August 1st & 2nd, in Rock Creek, BC, and features a a swath of top-notch blues artists from the Pacific Northwest.
This year’s Mainstage artists will include the self-described “Rootyamericanbluesrock” band Too Slim and theTaildraggers from Seattle; venerable Calgary bluesman Bill Dowey & the Blues Devils and Parksville guitarist & harmonica man Gerry Barnum. Also appearing are the Kootenay based blues-rock outfit the Rippin’ Rattlers and local group the Heady Acclaim.
The family-friendly festival features a down-home atmosphere, with the Blues & BBQ event situated on the banks of the Kettle river in a ten acre camping area.
A weekend pass is $100 (riverside camping included), a day pass is $55 (w/o camping), children 16 & under are free. Membership to the Sky High Blues Society is also included in the ticket price.
